Something New’s Cooking

We are really excited about 2008 as it is our intention to make the Hotel's food the best in Porthmadog, using the finest of locally sourced Welsh food ingredients combined with the skills and experience of our new chefs.

Felix Prem (formerly Head Chef at Pengathley Manor Country House) was appointed Head Chef in June and, recently, Francis Gomes ( Senior Sous at the Royalist Hotel, Stow) joined as his deputy. Both have considerable multi AA rosette level and fine dining experience. In particular, both have also worked abroad in international hotels which will add a further dimension to the range of dishes offered.

Photo of FoodWe offer two very different types of menu using the very best of fresh local seasonal produce. The A La Carte Menu is designed to cater for those who like to experience a contemporary European style of cooking, served in Peppino’s restaurant. Alternatively, there is the Traditional Favourites menu for those who enjoy traditional dishes, served in Gelert’s bar or Lorenzo’s Lounge
