Porthmadog's PremierHotel
June 2013

For the first time the Royal Sportsman Hotel has achieved a five-star quality rating for its food in the annual Visit Wales inspection.

Dinner quality, choice and presentation were especially praised by the inspector, who also awarded five stars for our bedrooms after a major two-year investment.

She gave four stars overall to every other key aspect of our facilities and services – housekeeping, hospitality, service efficiency, and the quality and maintenance of our bathrooms, restaurant, public areas and exterior.

She said her dinner was “excellent cuisine” using local produce created to a high standard, while levels of housekeeping and hospitality were “commendable.”

Ongoing major investment continues to raise the quality standards at this popular town centre property, she concluded.

Welcoming the inspector’s findings, Louis Naudi from the hotel said: “We are delighted to receive our first-ever five stars from Visit Wales, as this recognises the extra effort we have put into enhancing our food offering and housekeeping standards.

“These ratings – four quality stars from both Visit Wales and the AA, and retaining our national three-star status – mean we are still Porthmadog’s premier hotel and among the top four in Snowdonia.”
