Featured in the AA, and other leading pet guidebooks and websites, this pet-friendly Hotel positively welcomes dog lovers and their pets.
At the end of the day, guests and their dogs can relax in Gelert's Bar, named after the loyal dog 'Gelert' of Welsh legend. In the winter, we have open log fires, a popular place for dogs to sit by and fall asleep! Water bowls are also available.
We allow well-behaved dogs in our Courtyard guest rooms, patio garden, and Gelert's Bar - where customers can eat and/or drink - but only official guide dogs can go in our restaurant.
Guests taking breakfast, or wanting to dine, in the restaurant are welcome to leave their dog(s) either in their room or perhaps their car.
We have a free hotel guide to six short and long walks hotel for guests and their pooches so that the best of Porthmadog can be seen. There is the Cambrian Coast with Black Rock Sands and Borth y Gest beaches close by for dogs to run around and swim in the sea; and longer walks in the nearby Snowdonia National Park or Llyn Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
We can arrange visits to one of the local animal rescue centres, particularly Freshfields which the hotel sponsors, if a guest is interested in an adopting an abandoned pooch. Even grooming locally can be arranged!
